Happy 4th of July

Tomorrow, on the 4th of July, we will be celebrating the signing of the Declaration of Independence. An iconic historical document where our founders declared,

We hold these truths to be self evident. All men are created equal. That they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Sadly, there are far too many groups in America who do not believe this. They are trying to turn American against American. They tell us we must despise ourselves or accept we are victims whose only savior is the government. The Valencia County Republic Party does not support these efforts.

We embrace the liberty each Revolutionary Soldier fought for, and we honor the sacrifices made by every veteran and soldier who has fought for our freedom. We are proud Americans who believe that most Americans are also proud Americans.

If you are a proud American, please join us saying it is time to end the promotion of divisive agendas that are turning American against American. We must instead promote the preamble to the Declaration of Independence and in one voice declare:

• All men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

• We celebrate our diversity of cultures and beliefs, as well as our diversity of thoughts.

• We respect the fact that we are all individuals, with our own unique views.

• We will never forget we are free people living in the greatest nation on earth.

Especially now, as we celebrate this uniquely American holiday, we have an opportunity to join together to honor our flag and our nation, and to celebrate our freedom. I'll be at the Los Lunas fireworks display. Hope to see you there.
