Nominations for Temporary Assignment to the Los Lunas School Board are Being Accepted

As many of you may have heard the Public Education Department (PED) is investigating some members of the Los Lunas School Board for violating procurement and public access laws, the state Public School Code, and professional ethical standards. Only some of the school board members are under investigation, not all of them. But, per state statutes all members are suspended during the investigation.

A temporary school board is being assembled. The Public Education Department has appointed former Los Lunas School board member Sonya C’Moya to an interim position on of the Los Lunas School Board. Nominations for board positions are now being accepted by the Public Education Department. The deadline for submissions is Tuesday, June 8th, at 5:00 pm.
