Special Election for the 1st Congressional District (CD-1)
Who may vote in the Special Election?
Any registered voter in Valencia County who resides in Congressional District 1 (CD-1) may vote in this election.
If you don’t know which Congressional district you live in, you can go to SOS NM Voting Portal to see if you are registered to vote in CD-1.
During Early Voting Can I Register and Vote on the Same Day?
Yes, during Early Voting you can register to vote and vote on the same day. It may take a few minutes to verify your information, but once that is done you can vote.
When is the Special Election?
The date for the Special Election is Tuesday, June 1. Voting begins at 7:00 am and ends at 7:00 pm
Early voting will be available everyday except Sundays starting on Tuesday, May 4th and ending on May 29th. Early voting begins at 8:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm.
On Election Day Can I Register and Vote on the Same Day?
No, on Election Day you may not register to vote and then vote on that day. You may register to vote on election day, but your registration will not be verified that day, therefore you may not vote on that day. You may vote in the next upcoming election.
Where do I go to Vote?
The early voting site is at the Valencia County Administration Building (444 Luna Ave, Los Lunas).
On election day there will be two polling sites open. One election site will be at Ann Parish Elementary (112 Meadow Lake Rd, Los Lunas). The other site will be at the Meadow Lake Community Center (100 Cuerro Ln, Los Lunas).
