HB 99 Passes House Judiciary 10–0 with Strong Bipartisan Support as House Republicans Lead Reform Effort

Santa Fe, N.M. — House Bill 99, critical medical malpractice reform legislation led by House Republicans, passed the House Judiciary Committee today on a unanimous 10–0 vote, earning strong bipartisan support.

Republicans have led the charge to move this reform forward, building consensus across the aisle because it is imperative that the Legislature do everything possible to retain doctors in New Mexico. The unanimous bipartisan vote reflects a shared understanding that our health care system cannot afford further instability.

For too long, physicians have left our state due to rising liability costs, leaving families waiting months for care or traveling out of state to see a specialist. New Mexicans have been begging for reform. They are tired of delays. They are tired of shortages. They are tired of a system that is pushing providers away.

Passage through Judiciary marks a crucial step toward stabilizing and strengthening New Mexico’s health care system. HB 99 must continue advancing without delay and reach the Governor’s desk.

House Republicans urge their Democratic colleagues to continue this bipartisan momentum and ensure this long-overdue reform becomes law.

Senate Republicans Lead Charge to Kill Catastrophic 'Clear Horizons' Bill SB 18

Santa Fe, NM - Today, Senate Republicans led the charge to defeat the highly-publicized and detrimental ‘Clear Horizons’ environmental initiative Senate Bill 18 introduced by Senator Mimi Stewart (D-Albuquerque). By a vote of (23-19) Senate Republicans were joined by 7  Democrats who also recognized the catastrophic impacts of this legislation to our state’s vital industries, businesses, and economic future. This proposal sought to codify an impossible-to-attain ‘zero emissions’ environmental mandate by the year 2050.

In light of today’s massive victory, the New Mexico Senate Republican Caucus has issued the following statement:

“Today is a great day for New Mexican citizens, employees, employers, industry leaders, small business owners, investors, and entrepreneurs. We are proud to stand united in our fierce opposition to radical and damaging policies like Senate Bill 18 that seek to destroy our state’s lifeline: our vital industries and businesses. We must restore common sense to the Roundhouse; it is imperative that state lawmakers prioritize policies aimed towards addressing our state’s real issues. New Mexicans of all walks of life should be relieved that our efforts to halt SB 18 were successful and that this bill is now dead. We sent a clear message: New Mexico is open for business!”

We are the people of the Republican Party

“We are Republicans”

“We are Republicans”

One of the things we represent is the “Right to Life”, but we are so much more!

  • We believe in “Freedom of Speech” - without the 2nd Amendment, there is no first Amendment.

  • We believe “Family, God and Country”.

  • We believe in “Peace through Strength” - without Strength, there is no Peace.

  • We do not condone violence as we are the “Party of Rules” - those rules are ultimately our Laws.

We are all “Americans”.

This means we protect Jews, Muslims and anyone else who calls themselves Americans. As a country we are “Melting Pot” which means we are made of people from many “Races, Colors and Creeds”.

Our “Declaration of Independence” espouses we have the Right to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” in the very beginning of the document. That, in combination with our “Constitution” and “Bill of Rights” is the very basis of our Brand.

You don’t have to agree with everyone or vote in lockstep. We do ask you to vote your conscience keeping “Republican Values” in mind.

We welcome all New Mexicans to join our movement. The reality is that we all share the same values.

Become a Republican!

Thank you Michelle Borgogna for making this happen.
