Albuquerque, NM —Today, the Legislative Health and Human Services Committee, (LHHS) Chaired by Representative Elizabeth "Liz" Thomson, (D-Albuquerque) received dubious testimony regarding the effect of Medical Malpractice Claims on New Mexico Healthcare Providers. Presented by recently disbarred Professor Bernard Black, the biased information was disputed by both Republicans and Democrats alike, who were suspicious of the data presented and the conclusions drawn from such misleading data. Ironically, the committee chair appeared to only schedule this LHHS presentation in response to ongoing public concern regarding poor healthcare access in New Mexico and in order to combat increasing advocacy from Republicans in the Legislature.

In response to today’s biased presentation, Senators David Gallegos, (R-Eunice) Nicole Tobiassen, (R-Albuquerque) and Jay Block (R-Rio Rancho) jointly remarked:

“Progressive Democrats such as Liz Thompson would rather shield trial attorneys with lies and misinformation than truly represent the needs of everyday New Mexicans who are begging for commonsense solutions to improve their access to quality healthcare.” They continued, “For this committee to invite a disbarred lawyer and controversial professor such as Bernard Black proves our point; he came before lawmakers today and used biased and irrelevant statistics in order to undermine the lived experiences of every New Mexican. Until progressive Democrats choose to represent the needs of their constituents over the needs of greedy trial attorneys, New Mexico will continue to lose doctors in droves and our families and communities will continue to pay the price.”

We are the people of the Republican Party

“We are Republicans”

“We are Republicans”

One of the things we represent is the “Right to Life”, but we are so much more!

  • We believe in “Freedom of Speech” - without the 2nd Amendment, there is no first Amendment.

  • We believe “Family, God and Country”.

  • We believe in “Peace through Strength” - without Strength, there is no Peace.

  • We do not condone violence as we are the “Party of Rules” - those rules are ultimately our Laws.

We are all “Americans”.

This means we protect Jews, Muslims and anyone else who calls themselves Americans. As a country we are “Melting Pot” which means we are made of people from many “Races, Colors and Creeds”.

Our “Declaration of Independence” espouses we have the Right to “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness” in the very beginning of the document. That, in combination with our “Constitution” and “Bill of Rights” is the very basis of our Brand.

You don’t have to agree with everyone or vote in lockstep. We do ask you to vote your conscience keeping “Republican Values” in mind.

We welcome all New Mexicans to join our movement. The reality is that we all share the same values.

Become a Republican!

Thank you Michelle Borgogna for making this happen.
